3月11日，耿丹数字技术学院邀请美国加利福尼亚长滩州立大学计宇教授来院讲座。学术委员会主任肖勇教授主持，林子杰院长及各专业师生参加了此次讲座。

On March 11, GAD invited Professor Ji Yu of Long Beach State University of California to give a lecture. Professor Xiao Yong, Director of Academic Committee hosted this lecture, Dean Lin Zijie ,teachers and students of various majors participated in the lecture.

讲座题为“不期而遇”，以英文为主，辅以中文展开。计宇教授讲述了如何走上艺术创作的道路，苦难的年代里不懈的追求，成为计宇教授一生中最宝贵的财富。从初到美国学习的各种挫折，到申请奖学金拿到纽约州立大学版画双硕士学位，再到留美任教30年，计宇教授不懈的努力，奋斗拼搏的精神让同学们非常的钦佩。
The lecture is entitled "Self and Otherness", mainly in English, supplemented by Chinese. Professor Ji Yu described how to embark on the road of artistic creation, unremitting pursuit in the miserable times become the most precious wealth of Professor Ji Yu’s life. From the frustrations of studying in the United States at the beginning, to applying for scholarship to get a double master’s degree in printmaking from New York State University, to teaching in the United States for 30 years, Professor Ji Yu’s unremitting efforts and spirit of struggle made the students admire him very much.

计宇教授认为艺术的目的在于激发欣赏，在于对生活的细微观察，而最好的方式、方法就是画速写。计宇教授展示了他所到的美国和中国城市的速写，通过速写来体现画面中人物与人物之间、人物与建筑之间的关系，不同时代的对话等等，他创作了很多优秀的绘画作品，获得多项资助与奖励，其中包括墨瑞•夏普艺术基金会、犹它艺术基金会、伊利诺伊艺术基金会、南加州帕瓦罗蒂艺术中心B G阿尔佩艺术家资助和美国加利福尼亚州立大学研究资助等，他的作品被收藏于广州美术学院美术馆、中国油画院、香港中文大学、英国苏格兰国家肖像画廊等地。
Professor Ji Yu believes that the purpose of art is to stimulate appreciation, to observe life in detail, and the best way is to sketch. Professor Ji Yu showed his sketches of American and Chinese cities. Through sketches, he reflected the relationship between characters and buildings, the dialogue between different times and so on. He created many excellent paintings and won many grants and awards, including Murray Sharp Art Foundation, Utah Art Foundation and Illinois Art Foundation. His works are collected in Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts Museum, Chinese Academy of Oil Painting, Chinese University of Hong Kong, National Portrait Gallery of Scotland, etc.

同学们积极向计宇教授请教如何画好速写，怎样把握速写中的构图问题，怎样处理好绘画或设计作品中的哲学与艺术的关系等问题，并表示在今后的学习中也要用心观察生活，用速写去记录生活，持之以恒，指导未来的创作。计宇教授叮嘱同学们在未来的学习生活中，要打好基础，坚持英语学习，多看书，增加自身的人文修养。 
Students actively asked Professor Ji Yu how to draw sketch, how to grasp the composition of sketch, how to deal with the relationship between philosophy and art in painting or design works, and expressed that in future study, they should also observe life attentively, record life with sketch, persevere, and guide future creation. Professor Ji Yu urged students to lay a good foundation in their future study and life, adhere to English learning, read more books, and increase their humanistic accomplishment.

讲座最后肖勇教授指出：计宇教授的绘画作品表现非常的细微，是对人性和中美文化很好的诠释。
At the end of the lecture, Professor Xiao Yong pointed out that Professor Ji Yu’s paintings are very subtle, which is a good interpretation of human nature and Chinese and American culture.
