Good evening, students. As Dean of the International Business School it is my great pleasure to welcome you all to the grand final of the Dubbing Competition 2021.
 
It is my particular pleasure to welcome our academic leaders who have joined us here this evening, Vice President Xu, Deputy Dean Shan wenbo, Programme leader Franque, and of course our wonderful team of English teachers in the International Business School. 

 
I had the pleasure and privilege of being present in person in 2019 and greatly enjoyed these finals. I think the dubbing competition is a brilliant idea and I want to thank Levana, Franque and all of their colleagues who conceived of this competition and who’ve put so much work into preparing the teams for this evening. 

 
It is an opportunity, of course to practise your English language skills, but it is also an opportunity for you to enjoy exercising your creativity and imagination and carrying out excellent teamwork.
 
I believe that English language skills are crucial for any of you who want to study abroad and I hope many of you will, and also for those who want to work for international companies but you must also remember that China is now the global leader in international business and Chinese companies even based here in Beijing will require people who are proficient in the English language.
 
The dubbing competition is a hugely enjoyable way of developing your English skills and also I believe we will discover some very fine young actors this evening.
 
Above all, it is a most enjoyable event. Can I wish you all a tremendous evening of fun and learning and can I particularly offer congratulations in advance to our eventual winners.
 
I'm a long way from Beijing this evening, but I am very much with you in spirit. Please enjoy the evening.
