为了激发学生学习英语的热情，耿丹国际设计学院英语教研室联合学生工作事务处于11月28日在B202教室举办了“英语趣味技能大赛。”国际设计学院不同年级和专业的共30名学生展开热烈而紧张的比拼。英语教研室李娟、张娟、Nicola、于雪桐、芮艳芳等老师担任评委。
In order to stimulate students’ enthusiasm for learning English, the English Language Teaching Office of Gengdan Academy of Design and Student Affairs Office jointly organized the “GAD English Contest” in Classroom B202 on November 28. A total of 30 students from different grades and majors competed enthusiastically. Teachers such as Li Juan, Zhang Juan, Nicola, Yu Xuetong and Rui Yanfang served as judges.

本次大赛以趣味为引领，团队参赛，涵盖艺术专业词汇、英语口语表达、谚语与专业句子翻译、英语国家文化常识等环节，集趣味性、英语技能与专业知识为一体。整场比赛分四个回合，分别是“艺术类专业术语拼写”、“你来比划我来猜”、“翻译比拼”、以及“快速抢答”。赛制新颖有趣，设置“请求外教Nicola支援”、“求助热线”、“排除部分错误答案”等机制，充分调动参赛学生和观众的热情，激发学生智慧，凝聚团队力量。
This contest was guided by interest. Team participation covers art vocabulary, oral English expression, proverbs and professional sentence translation, and cultural knowledge of English-speaking countries. It integrated interest, English skills and professional knowledge. The whole game was divided into four rounds, namely Vocabulary Spelling, You Perform and I Guess, The Last Man Who Stands and Quick-fire Questions. The contest system was novel and interesting. It set up such mechanisms as “requesting Nicola’s support “, “lifeline” and “go fifty-fifty”. It can fully mobilize the enthusiasm of students and audience, stimulate students’ wisdom and rally team strength.

比赛采取现场打分的方式，最终决出团队奖及突出个人贡献奖。“教育即生活”，通过本次大赛，丰富了同学们的外语生活，让同学们在课堂之外感受英语语言与文化之美、艺术英语之道，增强团队协作能力，点燃了同学们学习英语的热情。
The contest adopted the way of scoring on the spot, and finally decides the team award and outstanding individual contribution award. This contest enriched students’ life, so that they can feel the beauty of English language and culture outside the classroom. It also enhanced students’ ability of teamwork and ignited their enthusiasm for learning English.
