10月24日，耿丹国际设计学院环境设计专业邀请爱尔兰都柏林理工学院（DIT）教授Thomas Leggett举办讲座。Thomas Leggett教授是高级室内设计师、零售空间设计师、The Mad Blue Fish 设计公司创始人。环境设计国际负责人陈琳、专业教师王洪洲、赵一诺带领学生参加了此次交流活动，英语教师杨娜担任了翻译工作。
On October 24, Professor Thomas Leggett of the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) of Ireland was invited to give a lecture on environmental design at the GAD. Professor Thomas Leggett is a senior interior designer, retail space designer and founder of The Mad Blue Fish Design Company. Chen Lin, director of environmental design programme, the instructor Wang Hongzhou and Zhao Yinuo, led the students to participate in this activities, and Yang Na, an English teacher, took the post of translator.

Thomas Leggett教授以“There are no limits to what you can accomplish, except the limits you place on your own thinking.”开篇，告诉大家没有任何东西可以限制你的成功，除了你对自己思维的限制。讲座中，Thomas教授对自己的设计成长经历做了详细的介绍，在讲述设计作品的同时，从设计前期调研、绘图、创意、主题、功能、创意表现方式、最终作品呈现，向同学们展现设计是如何从最初模糊的概念一步步发展为设计作品的。最后Thomas教授还展示了都柏林理工学院室内设计专业的学生作品。Thomas教授通过个人设计经历及设计作品的分享，形象介绍了设计思维的发展过程以及创意思维对于设计作品的重要性，也使学生感受到了东西方设计思维的差异性。
Professor Thomas Leggett begins this lecture with "There are no limits to what you can accomplish, except the limits you place on your own thinking." He tells students that there is nothing to limit one’s success except oneself limitations on their own thinking. In the lecture, Professor Thomas gives a detailed introduction to his own design growth experience. While describing his design works, he shows his students how design has evolved from vague concepts to design works step by step from pre-design research, drawing, creativity, theme, function, creative expression and presentation of final works. Finally, Professor Thomas also showed students’ works of interior design in Dublin Institute of Technology. Professor Thomas vividly introduced the development process of design thinking and the importance of creative thinking to design works through personal design experience and sharing of design works. He also made students feel the difference between East and West design thinking.
