为开拓教师国际视野，学习借鉴国外高校改革发展的先进经验，加强国际高校深度交流与合作，2019年1月20日，国际设计学院在耿丹教学副院长徐胜云及学术委员会主任肖勇的带队下，一行39人赴美国西部洛杉矶、旧金山考察学习。
In order to open up teachers’ vision, to learn the advanced foreign universities’ reform and development, and to strengthen the in-depth exchanges and cooperation with universities abroad, on January 20, 2019, a group of 39 teachers from GAD, under the lead of Xu Shengyun (Deputy President of BGD), and Xiao Yong (Director of GAD Academic Committee), went to visit Los Angeles and San Francisco in the western United States.

老师们将会参观旧金山老城区的涂鸦艺术、旧金山艺术博物馆、盖蒂中心及盖蒂别墅博物馆，洛杉矶现代艺术博物馆等多地艺术中心，这对丰富教师的艺术理论知识，拓展专业视野，提高教师的科研创造力至关重要。教师们将参观斯坦福大学，前往美国高科技、设计公司云集的硅谷，向谷歌、苹果、脸书、特斯拉等世界著名公司学习创意理念和思维方法，调整拓展专业方向。
The teachers will visit the graffiti art of San Francisco’s old town, San Francisco Museum of Art, the Getty Center and the Getty Villa, the Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles, and many other art centers, which will enrich the teachers’ artistic theory and broaden their professional horizons, as well as improving their creativity in research. They will also visit Stanford University and the Silicon Valley, the home of many America’s high-tech and design firms, to learn creative ideas and thinking modes from world-renowned companies such as Google, Apple, Facebook, and Tesla, in order to adjust the programme directions.

行程开始前，耿丹教学副院长徐胜云、国际设计学院院长林子杰及国际部负责人田野就本次赴美考察与所有老师进行研讨会议。会议中介绍了以往考察学习的经验启示及本次行程对学校发展的意义。希望所有教师在此次参观考察中进一步明确学校发展的近期目标和远期目标；对照国外先进高校，找准学校发展中存在的问题，要在人才队伍建设、资源配置、优化工作方式等方面，思考学校发展的问题和不足；明确学校需要进一步坚持的和需要改进的方面，找到改革创新的着力点，实实在在改革创新再出发。
Deputy President Xu Shengyun, GAD Dean Lin Zijie, and Tian Ye, head of the International Department, discussed with all teachers in a seminar beforehand, in which the experience and enlightenment of previous tours and the significance of this trip were introduced. It is hoped that all teachers will further clarify the short-term goals and long-term goals of school development, identify problems in the development in contrast with foreign advanced universities, and reflect on the construction of teaching teams, resource allocation, and optimization of working methods. Teachers should also clarify the aspects that the school needs to further adhere to and need to improve, find the focus of reform and innovation, and enhance the reform and innovation.

本次行程，耿丹国际设计学院将与斯坦福大学、圣何塞州立大学、拉古纳艺术设计学院、加州州立大学长滩分校进行深入交流，探讨合作办学、学生留学、国际工作坊等。国际设计学院教师将在此次行程中，进一步解放思想、更新观念、与时俱进；对培养通识型应用人才、跨专业学科建设、艺术设计学科的教学方法等问题进行再思考。
In this tour, GAD will try to establish cooperation in school running, students studying and international workshops with Stanford University, San Jose State University, Laguna College of Art and Design, and California State University Long Beach. GAD faculty will further emancipate their minds, update their ideas, and keep pace with the times and rethink the issues of cultivating liberal applied talents, interdisciplinary programme construction, and teaching methodology of art and design disciplines.
