GAD Participate in “the Beauty of Chinese Characters” Competition
2018年9月28日，在李恒、刘晓宇和候锐淼老师的带领下，耿丹国际设计学院视觉传达设计、数字媒体艺术专业以及视传数媒创新创业中心的学生受邀参加了2018“汉字之美”全球青年设计大赛年度盛典。
On Sept 28, 2018, students from the visual communication design, digital media art and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship center of GAD Visual Communication & Digital Media are invited to attend the annual ceremony of the 2018 “beauty of Chinese characters” global youth design competition under the leadership of Li Heng, Liu Xiaoyu and Hou Ruimiao.

师生首先参观了盛典的展览，体验了汉字的博大精深和“活化汉字”的精神。整个展览汇聚了设计师们对汉字多元的设计思维，展现了如何使汉字从静默的书写到创新的产品应用过程。观展过后，年度盛宴正式开始。
The teachers and students first visited the exhibition of the grand ceremony and experienced the extensive and profound Chinese characters and the spirit of “activating Chinese characters”. The exhibition brings together designers’ thoughts on the design of Chinese characters, showing how to make Chinese characters’ application process from silent writing to innovative products. After the exhibition, the annual feast began.

盛宴大咖云集，首都文化创新与文化传播工程研究院院长于丹教授、清华大学博士生导师陈楠教授、美国南加州拉古纳艺术设计学院迟迅教授等众多业界嘉宾参加。
Many distinguished guests attended the banquet, including professor Yu Dan, director of the Institute of Cultural Innovation and Cultural Communication Engineering in Beijing, professor Chen Nan, doctoral supervisor of Tsinghua University, and professor Chi Xun of the Southern California Laguna School of Art and Design.

嘉宾围绕“中华文脉传承之下的汉字创意”和“汉字的活化与中华伦理文明的传承”展开了讨论，并为师生们展现了特别呈现环节—“汉字之美”美国南加州拉古纳艺术与设计学院工作坊介绍及奖项颁发。
Guests discussed “Chinese character creativity under the heritage of Chinese culture” and “the activation of Chinese characters and the inheritance of Chinese ethical civilization”, and presented a special presentation session for teachers and students — “the beauty of Chinese characters”, an introduction to the workshop of Laguna School and award presentation.

汉字是中国传统文化的精髓与凝练，是汉学美的体现，是形与意的结合。本次盛宴的作品不仅是形与意的结合也是制和造的结合，新时代的中国设计师是要在传统文化的基础上建立新的秩序满足这个时代新需要，做到知行合一，理论与实践相结合。
Chinese characters are the essence and refinement of Chinese traditional culture, the embodiment of the beauty of sinology and the combination of form and meaning. The works of this event are also the combination of making and manufacturing. Chinese designers in the new era should build a new order on the basis of traditional culture to meet the new needs, and achieve the integration of knowledge and practice, as well as the combination of theory and practice.
