英国Phil教授耿丹国际设计学院讲座

 Professor Phil Cleaver Gave a Lecture in GAD  

 

 

4月1日，在肖勇老师的推荐下，英国著名设计师Phil Cleaver教授在耿丹讲座。主题为“没有无趣的设计，只有无趣的设计师”，由视觉传达李恒老师主持，二百多师生参加。

On April 1, Professor Phil Cleaver, a famous British designer, gave a lecture entitled “No Dull Design, Only Dull Designers” in Gendan Institute at the invitation of Professor Xiao Yong. The lecture was held by Teacher Li Heng from Visual Communication Programme and more than 200 participants were present.

Phil Cleaver教授从事设计42年，拥有众多国际级、国家级项目设计经验，曾在Pentagram五角星设计公司、Wolf Olins设计公司(伦敦奥运标志设计)担任要职。他是ETAL设计顾问有限公司设计总监，字体博物馆艺术总监，米德尔塞克斯大学创意产业领域教授，伯明翰城市大学视觉传达客座教授，赫里福德艺术学院院士。

Professor Phil Cleaver has been engaged in design for 42 years with rich designing experience in international and national projects. He once held important positions in Pentagram Design Company and Wolf Olins Design Company (London Olympic Logo Design). He is the Design Director of ETAL Design Co., Ltd., Art Director of the Font Museum, Professor of Creative Industry at Middlesex University, Visiting Professor of Visual Communication at Birmingham City University, and Academician of Hereford College of Arts.

Phil教授分享了二百多件作品，含诸多字体和书籍经典作品。他强调用材料完成作品，用身心感受生活中的魅力，这样的作品才更灵动。他的作品中有很多动物，源于孩童时期对动物的喜爱。Phil教授推荐了他的最新作品《年轻的设计师，你是否迷茫又着急》，这是一本设计师入门指导书，他介绍了书的主要内容和创作理念。

Professor Phil shared more than 200 works, including many fonts and classic books. He emphasized that an inspiring work usually comes out from the use of materials and the feeling of life by body and mind. There are many animals in his works, which originated from his childhood love for animals. Professor Phil recommended his latest work What They Didn’t Teach You in Design School, an introductory guide for designers and introduced the main contents and creative ideas of the book.

学生们用英语积极地向老师提问，Phil教授耐心回答并送给每位提问者礼品。讲座结束后师生合影，Phil教授为学生们签名留念。

Professor Phil had a heated discussion with students and offerd some gifts too. After the lecture, the teachers and students took a group photo and Professor Phil signed for the students.
